Keller Products, Inc. traces its roots back more than 80 years to downtown Manchester, New Hampshire, where the company continues to operate in the same Union Street building to this day. The company was founded by Robert R. Keller Sr., a pioneer in material innovation whose early career laid the foundation for Keller’s enduring legacy.
Before establishing Keller Products, Keller Sr. dedicated himself to mastering the science of bonding dissimilar materials to create structures stronger and more stable than their individual components. His skills were put to critical use during World War II, when, as General Manager of Hermsdorf Manufacturing, he transformed a modest store-fixture plant into a key defense-production facility. There, he led the engineering of molded plywood and advanced wood composites used in aircraft and minesweepers—applications that demanded exceptional precision, durability, and technical ingenuity.
In 1945, after the war’s end, Robert Keller Sr. founded Keller Products, Inc., bringing this military-grade lamination and materials expertise into the civilian market. What began as a small operation soon grew into a versatile manufacturer, producing everything from furniture components to wooden high-heel shoe forms, snurfer ski boards, and early prototypes of modern snowboards.
As new opportunities emerged, Keller Products adapted quickly. During the surge of the percussion drum industry, the company became the largest OEM supplier of wooden drum shells in the United States—a position it still proudly holds today through its renowned Keller Shells.
Building on decades of precision craftsmanship, Keller Products expanded further into laminated plywood cylinders for the furniture industry. These cylinders, valued for their strength, beauty, and design flexibility, became integral components for leading furniture manufacturers and architectural millwork firms across North America.
Today, Keller Products continues to innovate while honoring its heritage. The company supplies components and finished products to home and office furniture manufacturers, architectural millwork shops, OEM retail brands, store fixture and display manufacturers, and a wide range of other industries seeking high-quality round cylinder solutions. Keller is proud to support both established market leaders and emerging designers who recognize the value of American-made craftsmanship and engineering excellence.
