With over 70 years of experience in the percussion industry, Keller Products is widely recognized for producing precision built, custom molded shells for the world’s finest drum manufacturers. We combine premium materials, time honored craftsmanship, and industry leading technology to deliver the highest quality drum shells available. We produce percussion shells from 6″ to 28″ in diameter, for traditional applications and 30 to 36” diameter for orchestral and ceremonial applications. We make Bass Drum hoops for 14” diameter through 28” diameter. We can make shells for covered or paint grade options as well as premium natural finish veneer options. Shells can be constructed in many standard 5 to 15 ply configurations as well as countless proprietary configurations. Every Keller shell undergoes multiple QC checkpoints and receives a final date code and inspection stamp—ensuring complete traceability.

VSS™ Shells

VSS™ Shells — A Keller Differentiator As the leading OEM shell manufacturer for nearly 70 years, Keller understands what makes a drum shell timeless. Many legendary drums from the 1960s and 1970s were produced in our facility. What Is VSS™? VSS™ (Vibrating Sound Source) is a patented Keller innovation that uses advanced conditioning technology to enhance the structural and acoustic properties of each shell. Benefits include:

Vintage Mahogany Series

Vintage Mahogany Series For players seeking the warm, rich tones of classic drums, our Vintage Mahogany shells deliver a true “aged” character—robust, sweet, and full. Construction & Features:

  • African Mahogany + Poplar core
  • Stagger seam lamination
  • VSS™ enhanced
  • Maple reinforcement hoops
    • 1½” deep, 10 ply hoops for toms, floors, snares
    • 2″ deep, 10 ply hoops for bass drums

Available in traditional vintage sizes for toms, snares, and bass drums. Special orders welcomed. 

Vintage Maple Series

Vintage Maple Series For the bright, punchy tones of classic rock, our Vintage Maple shells deliver iconic energy. Featuring:

  • North American Maple + Poplar construction
  • VSS™ enhancement
  • Maple reinforcement hoops
    • 1¼” deep (8 ply) for toms, floors, snares
    • 1¾” deep (8 ply) for bass drums

Available in 6 ply construction in vintage sizes. Special orders welcomed.

Magnum Series

Magnum Series Shells 40% Thicker Maple Plies — More Wood, More Tone, More Power The Magnum Series uses VSS™ technology and dramatically thicker veneers to produce:

  • Enhanced warmth
  • Longer sustain
  • Stronger fundamental notes
  • Richer tom and snare tones
  • Thunderous bass drum performance

Available in 5 , 7 , and 9 ply configurations, with diameters from 10″–24″. Backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Exotic Wood Options

Standard offerings: Maple, Cherry, Walnut, Red/White Oak, and African Mahogany. Some Exotic species are sourced from international markets.  

Customer supplied material possible with prior approval.
